The Haven Teen Center
Rick Slaughter is proactively engaged as the Volunteer Program Director at The Haven Teen Center. His leadership and management contribute to the organization’s mission: To empower youth to become independent, successful, contributing members of their community. The events, resources, and programs through this center offer a haven for teens in Orting. Teenagers are at a critical point where they are learning and developing, holding the untapped potential to become a cornerstone in the Orting Valley Community.
All Year Programs
All Year Programs: A number of events and programs are available all year long. In addition to the Teen Counsel Program and Youth Leadership, teens have the opportunity to engage with other like-minded friends through tabletop game nights, bingo, laser tag, board games, gardening, Xbox, pool, ping pong, and more!
Seasonal Programs
Seasonal Programs: Fun team-building activities are available throughout the seasons, including an End of the School Year Party, Halloween Costume Party, Holiday Craft Bazaar, and a Christmas Giving Tree.
Classes
Classes: At The Haven, these classes and programs are the cornerstones of our mission. Education helps teenagers find the drive to continue learning and makes people of all ages more productive members of society. A variety of classes are offered, including both youth and adult karate classes.
Youth Leadership Teen Counsel
Youth Leadership Teen Counsel (YLTC): The Youth Leadership Teen Counsel started in the 2018/2019 school year to teach youth how to become leaders in the community and among their peers. Leadership skills are learned through the planning and implementation of other programs offered through The Haven Teen Center.

With over 4,600 sq. feet, The Haven Teen Center is an excellent place for the community to gather. When the facilities aren’t in use for teen activities, the building is available for rental.

Multi-Purpose Room
A large recreation space with muted acoustics and a passive sound system. This room is big enough to hold up to 120 people.
The Cafe
If you need a mid-sized reception center, then the Cafe is a great option to consider. It fits 10 – 50 people and offers entertainment such as TVs, tabletop games, and an adjacent kitchen.
Small Meeting Room
A conference room is available for small meetings, with a large, round table and chairs. The room is sized for groups of up to 8 – 10 people.
Entertainment Package
Entertainment Package: Other additional options can be added to facility rentals, including the use of Xboxes, a pool table, a foosball table, and a ping pong table. Additionally, table and chair use is included in the rentals.
